Olympians open refurbished Northcroft changing village

Great Britain’s women’s water polo team captain and 2012 Olympian, Fran Leighton, Olympic bronze medallist from the 2004 Athens Olympics, Steve Parry and synchronised swimmer and 2012 Olympian, Vicki Lucas, attended on Thursday to open the new area.
They were also there as part of the Zoggs Oceans of Fun Day where 120 young swimmers enjoyed free aquatic activities such as swimming, water polo, synchronised swimming and basic lifesaving skills.
Each activity was led by an Olympian and each child received a medal, certificate and a photo with their favourite sports person.
The new changing village includes a spacious new entrance to the pool area, new cubicles and lockers and improvements to the existing assisted disabled changing room to provide an all inclusive facility.
It has been in use since November last year.
West Berkshire Council's executive member for leisure, Hilary Cole (Con, Chieveley) said: "Customers are really making the most of the new facilities which provide a lovely and accessible route to the swimming pool.
"It is a pleasure to see the changing village, which is benefiting so many local people, officially open and to see so many people enjoying them."
