Not only does Beyoncé shop in Newbury but she lives nearby too!
And not only that, the Grammy award winner is living nearby too.
Many shoppers did a double take when the star, clad in dark glasses and a hoodie, and surrounded by minders stopped off in Mothercare and Next at the retail park.
The proud mum, currently in the middle of the Mrs Carter Show World Tour was holding her daughter Blue Ivy and it seems it was the little girl who sparked the impromptu shopping trip.
Mothercare store manager, Lesley Theobald, confirmed on Monday that Beyoncé was at the store and although she would not confirm what the Crazy in Love singer had bought said: "We can confirm that she was in the store but we respect her privacy as a new mum. If she wants to come in again, we would love to see her.”
And Tadley resident, Hannah Winsper, who was in Next with her family told the Newbury Weekly News that Beyoncé was near her looking at children’s clothes.
“Lily our eldest daughter was trying on shoes when a little toddler toddled over. I said "Lily that baby wants to say hi".
"Lily said hello to the toddler and Beyoncé said to the little girl "Are you going to say hi?"
"She was trying to not to make eye contact and that's when it occured to me who it was."
And another lucky and plucky local, Rob McGuire, not only managed to successfully persuade the star to talk to his friend on his mobile phone but also to hand over two precious tickets for her sold out concert.
However, the selfless teen handed the gift tickets over to his friend who spoke to Beyoncé as it meant "so much more" to her.
And those residents trying to get their head round the idea of sharing their shops with one of the world’s biggest stars, may have to get used to the idea of sharing their roads and air space with her too, at least for the time being.
The NWN has discovered that the international singer sensation is currently staying in a village on the Hampshire/Berkshire border, where residents have been sworn to secrecy, for the northern European leg of her tour.
And its not the first time, Beyoncé has graced the village with her presence - she stayed there two years ago when she headlined Glastonbury.
