Newbury specialist camera shop to close its shutters

T4 Cameras, Cheap Street, announced that it would close the doors of its Newbury branch for the last time when its lease runs out in August.
The chairman Tom Dingwall said that originally the store’s lease ended in 2009 but, after a lot of thought, they decided to renew it with a five-year break clause.
However, he said: “Our market has changed dramatically during these past five years, and whilst we have managed the change of focus in our Swindon and Witney stores, this has not been the case in Newbury.
“We are looking at the closure as a positive that will enable the company to put more focus and energy into the Swindon and Witney stores and our online presence and to develop the excellent relationships that we have with our major suppliers.
“We are very grateful to all our customers in Newbury who have made it a pleasure to serve them, and they will be very welcome in the future in either store.”
