St Johns Road in Newbury is to close for lifting accommodation units for NHS staff

A Newbury road will be closed later this month so accommodation units for NHS staff can be put in place, writes Summer Hyde.
St John’s Road will be closed on Sunday, May 28, from 9am to 3pm.
The closure will be in place between its junctions with Catherine Road and Chesterfield Road.
The diversion route is expected to be via the A339 southbound, Monks Lane, Andover Road (A343), and vice versa.
The official council notice states that the purpose of the closure is for a crane to lift accommodation units for NHS staff, but it is not yet known where the units will be put.
Residential access will be maintained throughout and the diversion will be signed on site.
Blue light access will not be permitted.
