Berkshire Maestros becomes Berkshire Music Trust

Berkshire Maestros have announced that in line with their new vision, mission and values, they are rebranding as the Berkshire Music Trust this summer.

Their new name was revealed at a garden party, the culmination of their celebrations of having been an educational charity in Berkshire for 40 years.

Berkshire Music Trust CEO Dawn Wren said: “This is a really exciting time for us as we re-build after the pandemic and look to the future of music-making across Berkshire.”

Alumni from over the years were invited to perform together again, play garden games and enjoy birthday cake and a barbecue in the sunshine to celebrate this milestone.

Former and current students gathered to remember their time with the organisation and favourite memories of making music in Berkshire,. Whether it was the music tours all around the world, making lifelong friends or sharing a passion of making music, everyone came back to commemorate the birthday.

Berkshire Music Trust is a long-established charity offering musical education opportunities to children, young people and adults across Berkshire, regardless of ability, background or circumstance. They work closely with schools across the county to allow all children access to music and the opportunity to play an instrument. Through local music centres, they offer people of all ages the chance to sing, play instruments and enhance their life-skills through music. Their choirs, orchestras and ensembles perform at prestigious venues across the county and beyond – helping people to develop their team-working and communications skills as well as building their confidence.

To end the birthday year, Berkshire Music Trust felt it was time to update their brand, logo and name – not too different, just a little friendlier to reflect their new mission and values in line with their updated strategy. They are striving for a more inclusive place where people come to explore, be inspired and enjoy all things music.

Ms Wren contined: “Not only do we want to reach more children and young people, but we also want to break down barriers relating to young people engaging in music. Working with our partners, we can’t wait to inspire and engage with more and more people!

Berkshire Music Trust’s aim is to enhance and enrich the lives of children, young people and adults through the musical opportunities they offer and to work collaboratively to inspire and develop musicians through creative, enjoyable and enriching learning experiences. https://www.berkshiremaestros.org.uk They seek to empower our community to achieve their potential, explore their own creative pathways and enjoy music in all its forms.
