West Berkshire Council announces a new inclusive play area opening in Newbury this weekend
A new inclusive play area for children is opening in Newbury tomorrow (Saturday).
West Berkshire Council has announced that the new play area, which includes a wheelchair ramp for children with mobility issues, will open in Almond Avenue at 10am.
It also has two sets of swings, two different sized climbing frames, a number of slides and many other fun features.
Following the opening, the council will host a community engagement event from 10.30am to 12.30pm to discuss the plans for a new community orchard, which will be planted in December.
Those who would like to know more about the orchard should contact the council’s countryside officer Jo Watt at jo.watt1@westberks.gov.uk
Action for the River Kennet (ARK) will also be running a family river school as part of the orchard engagement event on Saturday morning.
