Richard Ashcroft, Hozier, Ocean Colour Scene and The Bootleg Beatles take centre stage at Heritage Live concerts at Englefield House
The wind and rain didn’t seem to bother the thousands of people who enjoyed three days of open air concerts at Englefield House at the weekend.
The Heritage Live events kicked off on Friday with one of world’s favourite tribute acts – The Bootleg Beatles. They brought their string and brass ensemble to the Berkshire estate, alongside special guests The Counterfeit Stones and Noasis.
Saturday saw the biggest crowds despite the torrential rain, when former The Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft was the headliner.
He was supported by Nineties rock band, Ocean Colour Scene and South Yorkshire indie rock band, The Sherlocks.
Just under 10,000 people braved the unseasonably wet conditions to hear some of the 90’s most iconic tunes, including Richard Ashcroft’s Lucky Man, Song for the Lovers, The Drugs Don’t Work and Bittersweet Symphony, as well as The Riverboat Song, Profit in Peace and The Day We Caught The Train by Ocean Colour Scene.
The following evening the weather was a bit kinder, when Hozier took to the stage.
The award-winning, multi-platinum singer and songwriter performed at Englefield as part of his return to the UK for the first time in four years.
Playing to a nearly 6,000-strong crowd, he was supported by special guests Far From Saints and Victoria Canal.
