Reading Magistrates’ Court: Calcot motorist denies taking cocaine

A MAN is to go on trial accused of driving after taking cocaine.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, May 31, was Matthew Wilkins.

The 33-year-old, of Palmera Avenue, Calcot, is accused of driving a Ford Focus on London Road, Reading, when the amount of a metabolite of the Class A-controlled drug in his system exceeded the specified limit.

Mr Wilkins spoke only to confirm his details and to plead not guilty to the single charge.

He was told the case could proceed no further that day and that it would be adjourned for a trial to be arranged.

Mr Wilkins was meanwhile granted unconditional bail.
