More footage of 'Greenham's role' in latest Star Wars film emerges online
Greenham Common footage features in sneak peak video
MORE footage of Greenham's intergalactic appearance in Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens has been released.
With less than two weeks until the highly anticipated next installment of the saga hits cinema screens a behind the scenes sneak peak has been released on YouTube.
The footage shows Oscar Isaac, who plays Black Leader X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron, in front of one of the iconic craft docked outside the former Ground Launch Cruise Missile Alert and Maintenance Area (GAMA) site in Greenham, saying "This is crazy, just look around."
The camera cuts to a shot of Han Solo's Millennium Falcon parked outside the former Cold War bunkers.
John Boyega who plays Finn, a former First Order stormtrooper who joins the Resistance, enters the Greenham set saying "Oh my gosh... oh my gosh..... I'm literally shaking, this is insane."
News that Greenham's silos would feature in the films broke last year after photographer Matthew Myatt snapped Han Solo’s prized craft, the Millennium Falcon, alongside an X-Wing fighter parked outside the former GAMA site, while shooting promotional pictures for Airbourne Aviation based at Popham Airfield in Hampshire.
Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is due to hit UK cinema screens on December 17, 2015.
The plot has been kept largely under wraps, but will be set 30 years after The Return of the Jedi.
The film will reunite the cast of the original saga, including Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia.
