Mercedes destroyed in Greenham suspected arson




Firefighters discover vehicle well alight

A MERCEDES car was destroyed in a suspected arson in Greenham yesterday (Sunday) evening.

One pump from Newbury Fire Station was called at 9.30pm, to Greenham Road, Pigeons Farm.

On arrival, firefighters discovered a Mercedes car fully alight.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze using a hosereel.

No-one was hurt and after neighbours moved their cars away from the vicinity of the blaze.

The vehicle was destroyed in the fire, the cause of which was recorded as a suspected arson.

Police were at the scene.

Firefighters left the area at 10.45pm.
