The 44-year-old, of Bucklebury Alley, Cold Ash, admitted pursuing a course of conduct which amounted to the stalking of Angela Foan, in that he sent messages and voice notes and turned up at her property.

Crook further admitted three charges of assaulting Ms Foan by beating her.

All the offences were committed in Thatcham on various dates between March 1 and Tuesday, April 8.

Magistrates ordered pre-sentence reports.

They stipulated these should be prepared on an ‘all options’ basis, including custody.

Crook, who was legally represented by Heulwen Everton, was meanwhile released on bail with conditions.
