Man naked from waist down sexually assaults woman in Newbury
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man with no clothing on his bottom half sexually assaulted a woman in Newbury.
The incident took place at around 11.30pm on Friday, June 17, at the skatepark near the Riverside Community Centre in Rosemoor Gardens.
The victim, a woman in her thirties, was walking home when a man – naked from the waist down – approached her.
He touched the victim over her clothing with his bottom half before being chased off.
The offender is described as a white man, slim and around 5ft 10ins tall.
He has short, blond hair and is aged between 18 and 30.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Tyler Miller, based at Newbury police station, said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have seen what happened or saw someone matching this description acting suspiciously in the area, to please come forward.
“Anyone with information can call 101 or make a report through the website, quoting reference 43220266345.
“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via its website.
“We take reports of this nature extremely seriously.
“I would encourage anyone who has been a victim of this type of crime to report it to us and we will investigate thoroughly.”
