Man killed in early morning crash in Tidmarsh - police appeal for witnesses and dash-cam footage
A man has died after a crash in a West Berkshire village.
The man, who was in his 50s, was driving a grey BMW 5 Series which left the road on the A340 at Tidmarsh, between Moor Copse Nature Reserve and Manor Farm Lane.
The crash happened at around 4.30am on Thursday (March 13) and police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
The car came to rest in a ditch and the driver died at the scene.
Thames Valley Police said his family have been notified and are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers.
Investigating officer PC Elliott Hammond, of the joint operations roads policing unit, said: “This appears to have been a single vehicle collision, and very sadly, the driver of the car has died of his injuries.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man at this extremely upsetting time.
“I am appealing to anybody who may have witnessed this collision to please come forward.
“I would be particularly keen to hear from anyone who was driving in the area and have dash-cameras to please check for any footage which may assist this investigation.”
