Stewart Perry from Newbury jailed for death threats
A MAN has been jailed for menacing a woman and making death threats.
Stewart Perry appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 31.
The 44-year-old, of Monks lane, Newbury, admitted using violence to gain entry to premises, knowing someone inside did not want him to enter.
He further admitted threatening to kill Emily Green, intending she would fear he would carry out the threat.
Next, Perry pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards Emily Green, Amanda Magg, Dana Smith and Emma Shepherd, causing them to fear violence would be used against them.
All those offences were committed in Newbury on September 13, 2023.
Finally, he admitted driving a vehicle on Andover Road, Newbury, on January 5 when he was disqualified from doing so.
Perry also has numerous previous convictions and was previously subject to a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).
District judge Samuel Goozee jailed Perry for a total of seven months.
He said an immediate custodial sentence was necessary because of the nature and seriousness of the offence, because of his history of intimidatory behaviour and because of his criminal record.
