A Thatcham man who was found in a cannabis factory surrounded by more than 100 plants has been jailed.

He pleaded guilty to two counts of drug production on Wednesday, April 6, at the same court.

The conviction comes following a Thames Valley Police investigation.

On February 5, 2020, Ademaj was found in an address in Telford, Shropshire, following a warrant, amongst a cannabis factory of around 120 plants.

Ademaj failed to attend court following this charge.

On January 28 this year, officers found Ademaj following a warrant at Saxon Court, Thatcham - this time in a cannabis factory of over 50 plants - and he was remanded in custody.

After completing his prison sentence, Ademaj will face mandatory deportation.

Investigating officer PC Alasdair Ferrie, based at Newbury police station, said: “Many people who produce and supply cannabis do not realise the level of exploitation and criminality behind it.

“Some may consider supply to be a quick and easy way to make money.

“However, the supply of drugs causes untold harm in our communities and Thames Valley Police will robustly seek out those producing drugs in West Berkshire and bring them to justice.

“I am pleased that Ademaj has been given a prison sentence where he can now reflect on his actions.”
