Newbury man Martyn Cooper denies stalking
A MAN is to go on trial accused of stalking a woman.
Martyn Cooper appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, March 18.
The 44-year-old, of Racecourse Road, Newbury, is charged with pursuing a course of conduct which amounted to stalking Lucy Cooper by attending her home, sending letters and sending gifts on multiple occasions in Newbury between October 19 and November 3 last year.
Mr Cooper, who was legally represented by Max Riley-Gould, spoke only to confirm his details and to plead not guilty.
He was told the case could proceed no further that day and that it would be adjourned for a trial to be arranged.
Mr Cooper was meanwhile released on bail with conditions.
