A THATCHAM man has denied a charge of assault.
On Thursday, August 19, Reading magistrates held a preliminary hearing into the case against Ben Alexander Borges.
The 29-year-old, of Blyth Avenue, is accused of assaulting Darren Gibbons by beating him at the Mercure West Grange Hotel in Cox's Lane, Midgham, on April 20 last year.
Mr Borges, who was legally represented but did not attend the hearing, denies the single offence.
Magistrates adjourned the case until next year for a trial.
Mr Borges was meanwhile granted conditional bail.
