A MAN has been arrested after police received reports of someone exposing themselves on two consecutive days in Newbury town centre.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following the two incidents of outraging public decency.

Between 3pm and 3.30pm on both Tuesday, March 30 and Wednesday, March 31, police received reports of a man exposing himself in a car in The Broadway, next to the Clock Tower.

Investigating officer PC Joshua Harrop, of the Incident and Crime Response team based in Newbury police station, said: “We received reports that a man was seen committing this offence in a very public place in Newbury town centre on two consecutive days, which is obviously very distressing to those who witnessed this. As part of our investigation, I wish to appeal to anyone else who witnessed anything of this nature, to come forward and speak to police.”

Anyone with any information should call the 24-hour non-emergency number 101 or make a report online quoting the reference 43210135527.

Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A 31-year-old man from London was arrested on March 31 on suspicion of exposure in connection with the incidents and was released under investigation.
