The 35-year-old, of Masefield Road, Thatcham, admitted possessing an offensive weapon, namely a hammer, in public in Newbury on January 17.

District judge Davinder Sandhu adjourned for pre-sentence reports.

She stipulated these should be prepared on an ‘all options’ basis, including custody.

Stead was meanwhile released on unconditional bail.
