Major works on the A34 near Didcot to begin Monday
A section of the road between the A4185 at Chilton and the A4130 at the Milton Interchange will be restricted to a 24-hour 50mph speed limit on narrow lanes, and with occasional overnight lane closures as work is carried out.
The programme begins on Monday December 1 to replace filter drains, pipes and gully connections as well as clearing and cleaning of the drainage network and ditches.
Highways Agency Service Delivery Manager Guy Watts said: “This work will provide smoother and safer journeys for users of the A34 in this part of Oxfordshire.
“Road users will benefit from a section more resistant to flooding and therefore less likely to impact upon journeys.
“While work of this nature inevitably causes some inconvenience, we will aim to prevent as much disruption as possible.”
The latest disruption comes as major roadwork projects for commuters travelling via Oxford’s ring road draws to a close, a week later than planned, and after three months of heavy disruption for road users.
