Magic, disco and more at Aldermaston event for Ghana charity

Ramsbury resident and former Winchcombe School teacher Sarah Gardner launched ATE in 2012 to provide children in a poverty-stricken community in Ghana with a school meal each day.
It costs just 20p to give one child a meal, and our reporter Ellis Barker said she was so inspired by Miss Gardner's work after interviewing her for Out & About that she organised an event to bring in funds for the charity.
It is taking place at the Aldermaston Rec Soc, near Tadley, on Saturday, September 27, from 7pm.
Kicking off the evening will be a range of children's entertainment, such as party games and balloon modelling, followed by a family disco.
Tadley-born magician Michael Otton will also be performing, while a raffle, buffet and bar will be on offer.
Miss Barker said: "It costs just 20p to provide a nutritious school lunch for a child in Lawra, Ghana - something which we often take for granted in this country.
"Not only is it likely to be the only meal they get that day, it also encourages them to go to school rather than spend their days looking for food, which they might not find.
"Please help me to support this fantastic cause - let's see how many children we can feed!"
Tickets cost £3 for adults, with under-15s free.
