Lorry overturns on A339 South Newbury




Emergency services currently at scene

A lorry overturned on the A339 this morning (Wednesday).

Emergency services were called to the scene at the Swan roundabout south of Newbury at around 11.15am.

Two fire engines from Newbury and police vehicles were called to the incident.

A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 11.16am to a heavy goods vehicle on its side at the Swan roundabout near Newbury.

"No one was trapped and there wasn’t a fire. There was a small fuel spillage that we contained.

"The stop message came back at 11.30am."

Thames Valley Police spokesperson Hannah Jones also confirmed: "We were called at 11.15pm today to a report that a truck had overturned at the Swan roundabout in Newton Road, A339, Newbury.

"From our log it appears to be a damage only road traffic collision and the driver was uninjured."
