Great Western Railway lines reopen after person hit by train




The rail lines between Taunton and Reading have now reopened after a person was hit by a train, Great Western Railway has confirmed.

The person was hit somewhere between Westbury and Newbury, National Rail said on its website.

A spokesperson for GWR, however, refused to confirm the location.

Train services running through stations between Taunton in Somerset and Reading, including Newbury, were all cancelled or delayed.

Disruption is still expected until 6pm, with services delayed by up to 60 minutes or diverted.

Police forces covering Wiltshire and Berkshire have been approached for comment.
