Families and horseracing fans flocked to the Valley of the Racehorse on Good Friday for the Peter O’Sullevan Lambourn Open Day 2025.
The event is a major annual milestone in the village calendar as more than 20 horseracing stables throw open their doors in the morning, followed by an afternoon of varied entertainment.
This much-loved annual charity event gives the public a rare behind-the-scenes look at the heart of the racing world, from the legendary Seven Barrows, home to Nicky Henderson and stars including Constitution Hill, Jonbon and Jango Baie, to rising stars across the village.
Our photographer Phil Cannings was there throughout the day to capture all the action. Keep scrolling down for all his photos and more details.
In the afternoon visitors enjoyed the ever-popular Parade of Equine Heroes, Carisbrooke Stud Celebrity Showjumping, featuring stars such as Nico de Boinville, AP McCoy, and Jamie Osborne and schooling demonstrations over fences by leading jockeys.
This year’s event raised funds for the Thames Valley Air Ambulance and the Lambourn Valley Housing Trust.
