It’s lambing time at Inkpen’s Foxglove Farm
FAMILIES flocked to Foxglove Farm in Inkpen for its annual lambing event.
Families were able to walk around the farm to see adorable newborn lambs and their mothers.
Visitors also engaged in hands-on experiences, including bottle-feeding lambs and enjoying cuddles with baby chicks.
The farm’s Cathe Davies said during the event: “It’s going really well.
“Lots of people are coming in.
“It’s a very busy occasion, lambs are still being born and we’ve had quite a few already so they’ll be able to bottle feed the lamb if they want to and there’s little baby chicks so they can cuddle the chicks too.”
The lambing weekend is not just about the animals; families were treated to a range of activities, including Easter egg hunts and tractor-trailer rides, which have become a hit among the younger visitors.
Jeremy Stokes, who drove the tractor for the weekend, said: “I’ve supplied both of my tractors, and we’re doing the tractor and trailer rides today and tomorrow.
“It’s very popular, especially with the little people who nudge their mum and dad on to the ride.”
In addition to providing a fun-filled day, the lambing weekend also raises money for charity.
Mrs Davies said: “We choose two charities each year.
“We’ve not decided on the second one yet, but the first one is going to be our local church.
“We’re also asking our volunteers for their suggestions on the second charity.
“Last year, the money went to Inkpen School and the Air Ambulance.”
Participants in the event were also treated to the opportunity to explore a Hungerford fire engine, visit a police van, and brush a pony from Forever Loved, providing an array of exciting experiences for everyone attending.
Adding to the excitement, the farm recently welcomed its first guests at its new glamping lodges, which allow families to immerse themselves in the countryside and enjoy the natural beauty of the farm.
Mrs Davies expressed her enthusiasm for this development, stating: “It’s taken off really well.
“We’ve already had young families staying with us, and it’s lovely to see them exploring the countryside and going on local walks.”
