It’s coming up roses at Hungerford Rotary Club’s plant sale

GARDENERS turned up in droves to grab a bargain at the Hungerford Rotary Club's annual bring-and-buy plant sale.

The new venue for the event on Saturday, May 13, The Croft Hall, was also deemed a great success.

Though the weather was overcast, people turned out to buy plants for their gardens including perennials, herbs, vegetables and shrubs.

There was even a six foot obelisk, which was generously donated by Garden Art in Hungerford to be auctioned for the charity.

It was also a sociable occasion with tea, coffee and cakes being served.

A spokesman for the club, Llewellyn Robins, said: “The Rotary Club would like to thank everyone that contributed to the sale which raised nearly £700 for local and national charities.

“If you are running a scheme which the Rotary club may be able to help with, get in touch via the Rotary Club of Hungerford website.

“Are you interested in helping this local charity?

“Please get in touch at the same website.”
