In this week's Newbury Weekly News
Many parts of West Berkshire have been hit – with Shaw, Compton, Great Shefford, Pangbourne, Lambourn and Eastbury among the worst affected areas.
People have been evacuated from homes, public transport has been delayed and many roads have been closed.
The worst is not over though – with more heavy rain predicted for the rest of the week.
For all the pictures and reaction, see this week’s Newbury Weekly News.
In other news, Newbury and Thatcham town councils are set to freeze their precepts.
However, both town councils were forced to put contingency plans in place in case a grant from West Berkshire Council did not come through, leaving them short for the forthcoming year.
Meanwhile, cheering crowds lined the streets of Hungerford as soldiers from the 6th Battalion Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) staged a homecoming parade.
Schoolchildren waving flags joined the families of soldiers and civic dignitaries to welcome home from Afghanistan the regiment which has adopted Hungerford as its second home.
The salute was taken by Gen Sir Mike Jackson, who lives in Hungerford and who served as Chief of the General Staff and Head of the Army until 2006.
As always, there’s also a roundup of the week’s entertainment and sport, and of course this week’s £25 free fuel giveaway.
