IKEA Reading 'campers' ready to dash through doors




Tents unfurled prior to tomorrow's long-awaited opening

SHOPPERS have unfurled tents outside Ikea, Calcot, determined to be first through the doors when the new store opens tomorrow (Thurs).

The first campers have pitched up their tent today (Wed) to secure the best spot at the front of the queue outside the new IKEA Reading store, where they will be spending the night.

The IKEA fans will be in prime position for the traditional tree planting and ribbon cutting ahead of the store opening tomorrow.

Campers Katie Cook (mother) - also one of the first in Ikea Southampton, when it opened and Ella Cook (daughter) set up camp at 7am today and come from Southampton but are originally from Wokingham.

The 32,000 square metre store on Pincents Lane, Calcot, will provide the full IKEA product range of high-quality, low-price products and will create up to 370 jobs.

The new store features a selection of UK and world first’s.
