Iconic Hungerford hotel under new management

Three Swans to undergo £1m revamp

THE historic Three Swans Hotel in Hungerford High Street has been sold.

And the new owners have promised to invest a cool £1m in their latest acquisition.

The establishment was acquired by The Coaching Inn Group which specialises in transforming and revitalising high-quality coaching inns across the UK.

The group bought the Three Swans from brothers John and Steve Hodges, who have owned the property for the past 12 years.

The 26-bed hotel will continue to be run by the existing management team and will benefit from a £1m investment.

Founder and chief executive of the Coaching Inn Group, Kevin Charity, said: “We’re delighted to have acquired the Three Swans as it has a great reputation locally and attracts visitors from across the UK.

“We look forward to working with the team there to further grow its reputation and attract even more visitors and guests.

“The next six months will see significant investment in the property, including refurbishing the accommodation areas and developing the food and beverage offering and experience, through the introduction of our Eatery and Coffee House brand.

“This will include a brand new outside area and a focus on trading right through the day from coffees in the morning to cocktails in the evening, which has been key to our success elsewhere.”

The current, listed building dates back to the 18th century and still retains many original features, including the original archway to the courtyard for coaches.
