Ten-year-old Emily near Thatcham cuts hair in aid of cancer charity
A 10-year-old girl from Ashmore Green near Thatcham has cut her hair to support the fight against cancer.
Emily Macnab, who attends Thatcham Park Primary School, had 16 inches of her hair cut off over the Easter holidays to help create a wig for a child undergoing cancer treatment.
Her online fundraiser raised £1,100 in aid of the Little Princess Trust, a charity helping those up to age of 24 who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment or other conditions.
She previously told newburytoday she was encouraged to support the charity in honour of her nan who was diagnosed with cancer.
Her mother Shelly Macnab said: “It is absolutely amazing and we can’t thank everyone who donated enough.
“It’s taken a while for her to get used to it but she loves the new short hair cut.”
