Wash Common fireworks go with a bang at Falkland Cricket Club
There were plenty oohhs and ahhs in Wash Common on Tuesday night as the sky was lit up with colourful fireworks.
Taking place on bonfire night – November 5 – thousands of people enjoyed the whizz, pop and bangs of the annual display, which was held, as always, at Falkland Cricket Club.
The bonfire was lit just after 7pm before the huge fireworks display illuminated the cloudy night skies shortly afterwards.
There was plenty to keep everyone fed and watered while they waited for the main event too, with food, hot and cold drinks and a licensed bar all available for the crowds.
The fairground rides also proved very popular with the younger members of the audience.
All proceeds from the much-loved community display go back into funding the charitable activities of Falkland Cricket Club.
The club said that these include “promoting community activities and sport for all, regardless of age, ability or background”.
