West Berkshire firefighters remember 9/11

TODAY marks the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on America that brought down the twin towers of the World Trade centre.

West Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service will all observe a minute's silence at 1.46pm.

Each service posted on Twitter, with Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service stating: "Today marks the 20th anniversary of the devastating 9/11 attacks. "Our teams will be observing a minute’s silence at 13:46 today to coincide with the first tower hit and remember the around 3,000 people – including over 300 firefighters – who sadly lost their lives."
