Fire crews put out large fire on farm near Burghfield

There was a large fire on a farm near Burghfield yesterday (Tuesday).

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service received calls to the blaze on Reading Road at 11.28am.

Crews from Newbury, Mortimer, Caversham Road, Wokingham, Whitley Wood and Theale were sent to the scene alongside an aerial ladder platform and two officers.

Upon arrival, crews discovered a large fire on the farm.

Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used three hose reels, a main jet and the aerial ladder platform to extinguish the fire.

Crews were at the scene for approximately three hours and 55 minutes.
