Fifteen-year-old arrested in connection with Newbury robbery




Victim punched in face during incident

A fifteen-year-old boy from Chieveley has been arrested on suspicion of robbery.

The arrest is in connection with an incident at around 4.15pm in Northcroft Park, Newbury on Sunday April 17.

The victim, also a 15-year-old boy, refused to give money to the offender who then punched him in the face.

Half an hour later, the offender then demanded money again from the same victim at the bus station in Newbury and the victim gave him £20.

PC Claire Drewitt from local CID at Newbury police station, said: "This was a distressing incident for the victim and happened in the early evening in a public place. I hope that the knowledge of an arrest will be reassuring for the local community.
