Bucklebury Farm Park revamp given the go-ahead by West Berkshire Council

Plans to revamp a vistor's barn at Bucklebury Farm Park have been approved.

Permission has been granted by West Berkshire Council to remove the portacabins, and put up a new covered play area, storage building and a new toilet block.

The visitor building is to be extended at both ends. The extension will replace the portacabins and shipping containers at the site.

Internally the building’s layout will be reworked, to create an extended café and kitchen area; toilet facilities; an extended retail area; an education area; storage; and, better circulation space.

The site sits on a 70 acre farm which operates as a deer and farm park with additional amenities of play areas, a cafe, a farm shop and overnight accommodation in cabins.

In approving the plans the council noted that Bucklebury Farm Park is a long standing rural enterprise, which in recent years had become degraded – having a negative impact on the character of the North Wessex Down AONB.
