Families enjoy Streatley Balloon Glow
THIS was the beautiful sight in Streatley on Monday evening as a number of hot air balloons illuminated the night sky.
The Streatley Balloon Glow has become a much-loved free annual village event and is attended by members of the 3-4-40 Region British Balloon & Airship Club.
Families gathered at the Recreation Ground to witness the spectacle, with many bringing along picnics to eat while enjoying the view.
The event gets its name as the balloons light their burners after dusk, making the night sky ‘glow’.
While the balloons are inflated, they remain tethered to the ground and do not fly.
Amanda Stewart, who took these pictures, said: "It really was an awesome sight on a balmy September evening.”
