Englefield Estate's wooden snowman trail

Until January 3, members of the public can follow Englefield Estate's exclusive snowman trail, which showcases designs from local schoolchildren.

The trail opened on Saturday, and features 21 wooden snowmen, painted in with designs by pupils from a variety of schools.

They have been placed in the estate-owned woodlands near Mortimer, Burghfield Common and Mortimer West End.

A trail map is available to participants, allowing them to view the snowmen throughout the festive season.

Among the schools contributing designs are Burghfield St Mary’s Primary School, Garland Junior School, Mrs Bland’s Infant and Nursery School, Mortimer St Mary’s Junior School, Mortimer St John’s Infant School, Silchester Primary School, and Sulhamstead and Ufton Nervet Primary School.

Three creations were picked from each school, before being painted on to wooden bases.
