David Lloyd opens new gym in Newbury

More than 2,000 members already signed up to state-of-the-art facility in Monks Lane

HEALTH and racquet club David Lloyd opened the doors to its £9.3millon, state-of-the-art Newbury sports facility in Monks Lane last week.

The 3,300 square meter club has created 70 full and part-time jobs and already has more than 2,000 members signed up.

The club, which is the company’s 82nd to be opened in the UK, offers a fitness area and gym, indoor and outdoor tennis facilities, squash courts as well as a dedicated children’s activity zone.

Members will also be able to make use of the indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools with a range of activities including aqua aerobics, family swim times and quiet adult swim sessions.

General manager of the new club Paul McNicholas, for the new club said: “We are delighted to welcome Newbury residents of David Lloyd Newbury.

“The Club is a perfect environment for families to exercise and socialise both together and apart and we look forward to welcoming many more like-minded families.”

The new club is located next to Newbury Rugby Club, Monks Lane.
