Newbury Road Club hosting open day this Sunday

Newbury Road Club is inviting local cyclists to join one of its regular Sunday group rides as part of an open day.

Riders interested in hitting the road as part of a group are encouraged to turn up at Newbury Market Place at 8.50am on Sunday, ready to ride at 9am.

A spokesperson for the club said: “Good company, conversation and exercise are great for the mind, body and soul – and they are all part of the feel-good recipe at Newbury Road Club, home of cycling in West Berkshire.

“With over 200 local members, the club offers multiple rides and activities for everyone.

“Many cyclists ride alone or ad-hoc with a friend, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

“However, the fun of riding with a similar paced group offers many benefits.

“Apart from the motivation to stretch yourself, you’ll explore new routes and of course there’s the chance to swap stories with fellow riders over a coffee.

“So, whether you’re an absolute beginner or experienced racer, Newbury Road Club will provide the inspiration, motivation and organisation – all you need is your bike.”
