Craft beer festival to accompany flat season opener The Dubai Duty Free Spring Trials Weekend on April 11 and 12 at Newbury Racecourse




Newbury Racecourse will be kicking off the flat season in style with the return of its craft beer festival.

The Dubai Duty Free Spring Trials Weekend – across Friday, April 11, and Saturday, April 12 – will be the first race meet for the flat season at Newbury.

For the racing enthusiasts, there will be high class racing featuring three Group 3 races on Saturday, including The Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise Stakes (The John Porter Stakes), The Dubai Duty Free Stakes (The Fred Darling Stakes) and The Watership Down Stud Too Darn Hot Greenham Stakes.

Newbury Racecourse chief executive Shaun Hinds said: “The start of the flat season at Newbury is always an eagerly anticipated moment and this sense of anticipation is only added to by the return of our beer festival, which boasts the very best in local craft ales and ciders.

“This year’s Spring Trials meeting marks the start of our 30th year of partnership with Dubai Duty Free and we’re confident the weekend – and its bumper schedule – will start both our Flat season and milestone year with Dubai Duty Free, in style.”

Alongside the racing will be the return of the racecourse’s popular craft beer festival which will feature more than 30 ales and ciders from eight breweries.

Local breweries in attendance include Renegade Brewery and Tutts Clump Cider, with others further afield being Arkell’s, Loddon, Loose Cannon, Longdog and more.

Renegade’s marketing manager Clare Candy said: “We are excited to once again partner with Newbury Racecourse for their popular beer festival, as our collaboration continues to grow.
