Council approves Compton scout hut expansion

West Berkshire Council has approved a Scout and Guide hut expansion.

The Scout and Guide Section applied to build a timber-framed, open-sided classroom with solar panels to the rear of its existing scout hut at Compton.

The council has now issued conditional approval, dependent on the applicant submitting a lighting strategy for consideration before any external lighting is installed on the development.

And if there is any evidence of protected species on the site, the applicant must comply with any necessary regulations and licenses under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, the Habitats Regulations 1994 and the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000.
