Baughurst Repair Café opens for business on November 19 at Heath End Village Hall
The Baughurst Repair Café will have its grand opening at Heath End Village Hall this weekend.
The community group will be open for service for the first time on Sunday, November 19, from 10am to 1pm, and from January 2024 onwards the café will be open every third Sunday of the month.
Baughurst Repair Café chair Rosemarie Woo said: “We are a community action group run entirely by volunteers.
“Repair cafés are rising in popularity as they encourage people to repair and reuse their things rather than throw away and buy new.
“Many people have seen The Repair Shop on TV.
“We are the community version, just ordinary people who enjoy repairing things and putting the smile back on the owners’ faces when their items are repaired and usable again.”
Café members can fix electrical appliances, electronic devices, textiles, fabrics, toys, wooden furniture, IT equipment, bicycles and jewellery.
The café also offers tool sharpening as well as IT and mobile phone advice and troubleshooting.

Repairs are free along with refreshments, but donations would be appreciated.
