Commemorative military convoy from Newbury to Hungerford

A MILITARY vehicle D-Day 80th anniversary convoy is heading for Hungerford this morning, Saturday.

The convoy will be similar to that around which the seventy-fifth anniversary of D-Day was commemorated at Greenham Common in June 2019.

Here is the intinerary:

11am: arrive Greenham Business Parl

11.30am: depart Greenham Business Park

11.40am: Newbury (via town centre)

Newtown Road > Bartholomew Street > Bridge Street > Northbrook Street > The Broadway > Oxford Street > Wetern Avenue (A4) > Bath Road > Speen

12pm: Kintbury crossroads

12.15: Hungerford (via town centre)

Charnham Street > Bridge Street > High Street > Priory Road

12.25pm: Arrive Hungerford Rugby FC (Triangle Field)

Hungerford’s’ weekend of commemoration will see a full program of activities and events including parades; display; history talks and the unveiling of a D-Day commemorative stone on Hungerford Common.
