Cold Ash pub to close ‘for foreseeable future', after kitchen fire

Fire crews from across two counties spent nearly four hours extinguishing the blaze at The Spotted Dog on Tuesday afternoon.
Six crews were called to the fire at the Gladstone Lane pub at about 4.50pm.
The ground floor kitchen was alight and firefighters remained at the scene until 8.23pm.
They then returned later in the evening and again on Wednesday morning to inspect the damage.
A statement on behalf of the pub said: “Due to a serious fire at the pub, The Spotted Dog will remain closed for the foreseeable future.
“[Landlord] Kev, Caz and their family would like to thank all of the regulars and the local community for their many offers of help and support at this difficult time.”
