Cold Ash Heritage Group needs your help
To mark 100 years since the outbreak of the war, it wants to celebrate the lives of local men killed in action, as well as the 115 survivors recorded on the roll of service. It will be the recently-formed group’s first project, part of establishing a virtual online museum for the parish.
Charles Garrat is one of the 32 men named on the memorial, but no record can be found of him within the parish census returns or at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission archive.
The group is hoping that local people may be able to help provide some information.
If you have knowledge, memorabilia, or photographs of Mr Garrat or any other individual of the parish who served in any capacity during the First World War, email the project leader, Peter Seward, at CAPHGWW1@gmail.com
