Church bells will ring tonight in tribute to a murdered local couple.

Newly married couple David and Celia Barlow were honeymooning in Uganda when they were murdered by an ISIS-affiliated terrorist group last Tuesday (October 17).

Tonight (Tuesday), St Mary’s Church in Hampstead Norreys will be ringing a quarter peal in their honour in place of its usual evening bellringing practice.

The bells will be half-muffled as a sign of respect.

Candles and tributes have been left in the church since the incident, and tonight’s gesture is in further recognition of the shock and grief felt by the whole community.
