Christmas comes early to Woolton Hill with Christmas market, Tractor Run and Christmas Festival on December 14

With a festive and fun-filled day of events on the weekend, Christmas has well and truly arrived in Woolton Hill.

On Saturday, December 14, the day kicked off with a Christmas market in Woolton Hill Church Hall between 10am and 1pm.

Later that afternoon, the much-anticipated Woolton Hill Tractor Run took off at 4.30pm and made its way through North Hampshire, spreading Christmas joy throughout the area.

Starting in Hollington, the fleet of 35 tractors—all made up with Christmas lights and decorations—passed through Highclere, Penwood and Burghclere before finishing in Harwood Rise in Woolton Hill at 6.30pm where hundreds of people were waiting to welcome the spectacular sight.

The tractor run organisers said: “The Woolton Hill Tractor Run would like to thank the public for coming out and making year two of the run the great success that it is.

“We loved seeing you all on the way and are grateful for all of the money you generously donated.

“Thank you very much to the Firefighters of Kingsclere Fire Station who were able to bring their engine to support us.

“You are one of the reasons that we were doing this run and we appreciate you taking the time to join us.”

The final event of the day was the Woolton Hill Christmas Festival in Harwood Rise which was supporting the children’s disability charity Dingley’s Promise and youth counselling service Time2Talk this year.

Several Harwood Rise residents lit up their houses with extravagant decorations and the festival provided fun and entertainment for all who attended.

Festival organiser Jenny Graham said: “There really was something for everyone at this amazing street party which grows and becomes more fabulous each year.

“Whether people enjoyed the warming fire pits to toast their marshmallows, the children’s rides and games or the live music, we’re sure everyone had a fantastic evening.”
