Willink School, Burghfield gets a new Head Teacher
Former deputy head Nicolle Browning has now been appointed as the new headteacher of The Willink School in Burghfield Common.
Ms Browning was chosen from six candidates – after a three-day selection process.
She will officially take up the post in September.
"I am delighted to have been appointed as headteacher," said Ms Browning. "Willink is a wonderful school with exceptionally talented and committed staff and governors, supportive parents and community groups, and of course wonderful students who are ambassadors for the school.
"Leading a school where kindness is the culture inspires me. From my experience, I know that a successful and happy school depends on all of us working together.
"As parents and carers, you make an important contribution to your child's achievements and I'm looking forward to building on the relationship between you and the school in this next phase of your child's learning journey with us.
"We will be exploring exactly what 'Engage, Respect and Achieve' looks like in our school and look forward to your involvement in this process."
Selection activities included a mock senior leaders meeting, scrutiny by the student council, a Q&A session with staff and an interview with representatives from the governors and local authority.
The appointment process was overseen by school governors and education consultant Pauline Thomas.
