Burghfield Barn Dance for charity

Burghfield's annual barn dance will return this Saturday.

The event will be hosted at Burghfield Community Sports Association from 7.45pm to 11.30pm, with all the proceeds going to Thames Valley Air Ambulance.

Guests are invited to enjoy an evening of dancing to Jig Works and a raffle, cheap bar and hot and cold food.

Judy Eaton, who has been running the barn dance since 1999, said: "Over the years we've supported various charities, including Cancerbacup, RNLI, Red Cross and for the last few years, before covid, Thames Valley Air Ambulance.

"In 2019, we raised £860, then £415 in 2020, although no event of course.

"This year, amid worries about numbers and covid, I think we'll have about 90 people. and proceeds will go to TVAA.

"Those who attend are my friends from my badminton group, table tennis mates, friends and family, U3A members of various groups, and most importantly, the guys and gals I teach jive to (50s style rock n roll) on a Tuesday and Friday."
