Newbury Building Society launches volunteering project
Newbury Building Society has launched a long-term volunteering project in celebration of its 165th year.
The initiative – titled 165 Days of Volunteering – will see the society aim to donate 165 days of volunteering to local charities, community groups, and other worthwhile causes throughout 2022.
The society hopes that this project will strengthen relationships with local organisations and support people in need throughout Berkshire, Hampshire, and Oxfordshire, where its 10 branches are based.
The society’s marketing and communications manager Emma Simms said: “As a mutual society, our community efforts are very important to us.
“Over the past two years volunteering has been made more difficult by the ongoing restrictions imposed on us by the pandemic.
“However, we are delighted to now be able to launch our 165 Days of Volunteering campaign in celebration of our 165th year and to reinvigorate our community activity.
“We hope to partner with a range of organisations in our branch communities and encourage local groups who could do with support to get in touch with us.”
Organisations looking for volunteers can express their interest in being involved on the society's website at www.newbury.co.uk, or in a branch.
Projects must be located within reasonable proximity of one of the society's branches, or its Newbury head office, to be eligible for consideration.
